HomeDarts for Autodarts

Your Autodarts board, live in Home Assistant: local, realtime and ready for automations.

HomeDarts for Autodarts brings your Autodarts board into Home Assistant: darts appear a fraction of a second after they land, straight from the Board Manager in your network. Any other dartboard plays along too, with its darts entered by hand or sent by a Granboard. Play and train with them, put a scoreboard next to the board, follow your statistics and let your home join in. No account, no cloud, no client ID.

HomeDarts for Autodarts is an unofficial community project, not affiliated with Autodarts. Up to version 1.18 it was called Autodarts: From Autodarts to HomeDarts explains the new name and how HomeDarts takes over your boards.

Animation: a 301 match on the live card and the scoreboard. Alex throws three triple 20s, the beds light up and the scoreboard counts down to 121; Sam scores 85; Alex checks out 121 with T20, outer bull and D18 for the game shot

What it does

  • Local and in realtime

Found automatically with Board Manager 2; Board Manager 1 works too. Nothing leaves your network unless you use the board search or the online bridge, and board secrets are never stored.

    How it works

  • Games

X01 from 101 to 1001 with the checkout route after every dart, Cricket, Cut-Throat Cricket, Tactics, Wild Mouse, Random and Hidden Cricket, and nine party games for up to eight, alone or as a match of up to four with legs, sets, teams and handicaps.

    Games and rules

  • Training

Training sessions that start with the first dart, eight training games from Around the Clock to the JDC Challenge, a daily goal, a training streak and personal bests.

    Training games

  • Scoreboard and cards

A scoreboard for a tablet or TV, also through Chromecast, readable from the oche, with a new game screen, a caller and idle mode. Seven dashboard cards and an automatic dashboard, in English, German, Dutch, French and Spanish.

Scoreboard at the board · Dashboard cards

  • Statistics with heatmaps

3-dart average, first 9 average, checkout and doubles rate, a heatmap of every bed or of the real dart positions, and where each player scores the most per dart. Player profiles with badges, weekly trends, a leaderboard, a weekly report and a training calendar.

    Statistics and players

  • Automations and blueprints

Board events for every dart, visit, takeout, bust, won leg and match. Fifteen blueprints: light show, score display, dart and practice callers, highlight photos, reports, alerts, routines, games started and darts entered by voice, and answers from Assist about your darts.

    Automations

  • Tournaments and a bot

Tournaments of three to 32 players, as a round robin with a table, a knockout, a double elimination or groups with a knockout, at one board or on several boards at once, and a bot from level 20 to 120 to play X01 and Cricket against.

    Tournaments · The bot

  • Voice

Say "Start 501 for Alex and Sam" to Assist, in English, German, Spanish, French or Dutch, and the game starts; then "Alex has 140" or "Triple 20" enters the darts, as at a dart machine, and "What is my average today?" gets its answer from the statistics of the board. Any game also starts with one action of an automation.

From the dart to your home

Everything happens in your network, in less than a second: the Board Manager names the field, and Home Assistant shows it on the cards and hands it to your automations.

Supported devices

Setup Supported Tested with
Board Manager 2: Autodarts 2 without a screen (headless) 2.x 2.0.0 and 2.0.2
Board Manager 1 (classic app) 1.x 1.0.7
Autodarts Desktop on Linux Works, as reported by a player 2.0.2 on Ubuntu 24.04 (report)
Autodarts Desktop on Windows and other systems Not tested yet –
Winmau Autodarts devices such as Autodarts X Not tested yet –
Cameras Any number supported by the Board Manager 3
Home Assistant 2026.8 or newer (why) 2026.8.0 and 2026.9.4

Any board hardware that runs the Autodarts Board Manager works, because the integration talks to the Board Manager, not to the cameras. Rows reported by a player were tested by a player on their own board, not by the project.

Since September 2026, the Autodarts documentation describes the Board Manager as the browser interface of Autodarts 0.x that is not supported from version 2 on. The local interface on port 3180 that the integration uses still answers on Autodarts 2.0.2. If an update changes it, the integration shows a repair notice instead of failing silently (see troubleshooting). If your setup is not in the table, a compatibility report helps, even when everything works.

Languages

The integration speaks English, German, Dutch, French and Spanish: setup, options, entities and their states, actions, messages and repairs, the cards with their editors and the caller of the scoreboard. It follows the language of Home Assistant; a regional variant such as de-CH or es-419 counts as its language. Other languages see English.

  • Home Assistant names the entities in the language of the server (Settings → System → General); states and cards follow the language of your user profile.
  • The caller speaks the card's language with a voice of your browser or tablet for that language, or with a voice pack of recorded calls; homedarts.generate_voice_pack records one in the language you choose.
  • The documentation is in English and German, the settings of the blueprints in English because Home Assistant does not translate blueprints. Their calls still speak all five languages: the integration gives the events the words of the callers and of the weekly report in the language of Home Assistant (calls in the language of Home Assistant). The voice blueprints understand sentences in all five languages. Assist answers in the language of Home Assistant, and in the language of the question for Ask Assist about your darts.

Texts that are missing in a language, or older than their English original, are listed in that language's translation issue, which a bot keeps up to date. It explains how to fix them right on GitHub, without programming. Each language has two small files of its own, translations/<language>.json for the integration and frontend/text/<language>.js for the cards, both in custom_components/homedarts/. To improve a translation or add a language, see translations in CONTRIBUTING.md.
